Abstract: Along with the process of urbanization, the fundamental change has taken place in the rural production and lifestyle of metropolitan fringe, and the abstract symbolization of rural culture is highlighted. Taking Shantang Village, Jinshan District, Shanghai as an example, this paper analyzes the symbolic phenomenon of rural culture in metropolitan fringe from the perspective of cultural disembedding, speculates on the internal causes of rural culture disembedding, and explores the spatial inheritance strategies to avoid rural culture disembedding.
