Abstract:
Karez underground water conservancy project, as Turpan's special cultural heritage, is closely related to Turpan oasis villages. However, with the change of the earth environment, the progress of human technology and the continuous development of villages, the relationship between Karez and oasis villages is changing. The close relationship between residents' production and life and Karez water source is gradually broken and weakened due to the change of water intake technology. As a result, the number of Karez decreased dramatically, and the traditional culture of oasis was in decline. Under the background of implementing the strategy of rural revitalization, which was put forward by the 19th National Congress of the CPC, there are common needs and goals for the protection of Karez and the revitalization of Turpan oasis villages. Based on combing the connection between the protection of Karez and the revitalization of rural areas, according to the requirements of the strategic plan of Rural Revitalization (2018—2022), combined with the protection of the cultural heritage of Karez, the paper puts forward five strategies for the revitalization of Turpan oasis rural areas, which are to guide the rural layout according to the protection zone; to promote agricultural modernization through high-quality production; to realize the integration of primary, secondary and tertiary industries in combination with the comprehensive utilization of Karez; to build a beautiful and livable ecological village through the rational distribution of water resources; and to make use of Karez intangible cultural heritage to flourish and develop rural culture, in order to realize the win-win goal of Karez protection and rural revitalization.
