Abstract: The report of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China clearly proposes the implementation of the strategy of rural revitalization. In this context, the inheritance and development of the traditional excellent culture of ethnic minorities usher in a new opportunity. As the main material carrier of Tujia culture, the Tujia Diaojiao building not only shows the traditional ideas of Tujia to a certain extent, but also is an important part of Tujia culture inheritance. This paper first combs the characteristics and cultural connotation of Tujia stilts, and on the basis of field investigation, analyzes the status of the preservation and development of Tujia stilts in Western Hubei Province. Combined with the structure function theory, it attempts to reveal the difficulties faced by Tujia stilts in the process of cultural heritage and development, and finally puts forward the corresponding countermeasures and solutions.
