Abstract:
The ‘Mulan stone masonry’ building, as a representative of the human settlement environment construction of ancient villages in the hilly and mountainous areas in northern Wuhan, integrates the traditional Chinese thought of harmony between human and nature, environmental resource conditions and local construction ingenuity, which becomes a model of harmonious coexistence between human and nature. Taking the Luojiagang Ancient Village in Wuhan as an example, this paper systematically studies the ‘Mulan stone masonry’ settlements from multiple aspects such as space, history, culture, society, and ecology, and summarizes the wisdom about site selection, construction, technique, and environmental construction of Luojiagang Ancient Village. Regarding to the decay problem and the plight of village development in ‘Mulan stone masonry’ building in Luojiagang Village, the author learned from the past and opened the present, based on the coordinated development goal of ecology, production and life, in order to explore the measures and paths for the protection and renewal development of the village human settlements and ‘Mulan stone masonry’ building, providing theoretical reference and practical experience for the sustainable development of contemporary ancient village human settlements.
