Abstract: Under the background of the 18th CPC National Congress, ecological civilization is getting more and more attention. The rural vitalization strategy, brought on the 19th CPC is a strong response to the rural decline. The rural area is the key to achieve the goal of building a moderately prosperous society. Currently, an area with superior ecological environment is usually also a typical poverty-stricken area, which is confronting both ecological preservation and development requirements at the same time. This paper takes the rural areas of five counties in Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province as examples, exploring the possible path for rural revitalization by guiding the development of ecological space, urban space and agricultural space, promoting the dynamic transition of economic development in rural area, and strengthening the urban-rural integration. It is hoped to provide theoretical and practical experiences for revitalization of China's rural areas in the new era from the perspective of ecological civilization.
