Abstract:
Due to the interference of urban construction and other human factors, the natural habitat has been destroyed by fragmentation and islanding, and the urban biodiversity continues to degrade, where the protection work urgently needs to be fully implemented. Green corridors along linear infrastructure such as traffic roads and water systems can strengthen the connectivity of natural habitats, stabilize the urban ecological structure, and restore and protect biodiversity in the area. At present, it is in the period of promoting territorial spatial planning. In order to build a better pattern of urban green network, this article summarizes relevant documents and reports, and introduces the development experience of the British Natural Environment White Paper on the construction of traffic corridors in response to the problems of urban green corridor construction and biodiversity conservation. The study combed the goals, methods, and steps of the British Natural Environment White Paper traffic corridor construction, especially the landscape ecological evaluation system established in the planning process, in order to comprehensively analyze the ecological conditions of each section and select planning strategies. The above analysis can make people realize the importance and necessity of the construction of urban green corridors for the protection of biodiversity, and obtain the experience of the British Natural Environment White Paper traffic corridor for the planning and construction of green corridors in domestic areas.
