Abstract:
With the rapid urbanization, agricultural transformation, and lifestyle changes, the protection and development of many historic villages have been severely challenged. Linpan, as a carrier of Sichuan's history and culture, has been drastically reduced. The problem needs to be solved urgently. Using GIS, RS technology, and the Logistic regression method, this paper analyzed the changes and the driving forces of Chongzhou's Linpan from 2009 to 2019. It was found that:(1) urban expansion led to a significant decrease in the quantity and density of Linpan in the city center; (2) most of the Linpan in each town are clustered, but the degree of Linpan's density in the city center has decreased significantly; (3) the driving forces of change were ranked as follows:distance from the city center > fixed-asset investment > elevation > cultivated field > population size > slope > distance from significant roads > population size > gross domestic product; (4) the changes of Linpan had connections with the implementation of policies such as new rural settlements; (5) the stability of Linpan has a positive connection with the distance to the main road, the surrounded population, and the location economy; (6) It is recommended to pay attention to the protection of Linpan in the surrounding areas of the city center, accelerate the transformation of its cultural value, carry out spatial upgrading and modernization, and improve institutional protection.
