Abstract:
Based on spatial analysis of population changes in Laiwu's village-neighborhood-committee area with 5th and 6th census data, this paper indicates some summaries as follow. In the context of rapid urbanization, local population redistribution is highly spatial polarized-coexisting of pervasive moderate decrease and a few explosion. Settlements types have more difference of population changes rather than geographic types, and therefrom more impact on population changes, which seems to be attributed to institutional and policy factors, especially the allocation of public resources related to administrative status. As response, disadvantaged town and villages should reorient its role in a more polarized future.
