Abstract: Based on the contribution and role of small towns in China's economic and social development, new urbanization, rural development and urban and rural integration development, this paper makes a combination of quantitative and qualitative analysis, to objectively depict the present situation, the problems and their support to the national key strategic of small towns in nowadays, and it gives five suggestions for promoting the high quality development, in order to provide decision-making reference to promote the healthy development of small towns in China.
