Abstract:
The large-scale similarity of architectural exterior elements is an important feature of rural housing's homogenization, but there is a lack of micro perspective interpretations from such specific building elements. In addition, dissociation from regional tradition is generally regarded as the cause of the assimilation of rural housing in a broad sense. However, after controlling the factors of regional tradition, it is worthing discussing how the homogenization of specific appearance elements appeared in the same region in the period of nontraditional performance? This paper summarizes the windows and doors' 'Shoutou' of rural houses in Guangzhou and their diversity in different periods, and analyzes the homogenization and the main influencing factors from two main aspects of mode and style of 'Shoutou' by combining survey statistics and questionnaire interviews. And it attempts to explore the phenomenon of rural housing homogenization within the region at the construction level.
