Abstract:
China's rural revitalization strategy has put forward higher requirements for the discipline of urban and rural planning to intervene in rural areas. How to train suitable planning talents for rural revitalization has become an important issue for discipline development. This paper analyzes the new challenges faced by urban and rural planning discipline in rural planning practice, examines the ontological differences between urban and rural areas as well as the historical shift in rural development. It argues that rural planning should break away from traditional planning thinking, shifting from physical space planning to spatial governance and management with space as a means and the goal of maximizing community welfare. It is necessary to strengthen the value guidance of rural studies, introduce interdisciplinary thinking, implement the concepts of governance and community construction, and cultivate talents suitable for rural revitalization with practice orientation.
