Abstract: Improving quality of village human settlements is one core target of rural revitalization. Under the background of promoting multiple planning integration and making practical rural planning, Beijing has put many efforts on exploring the optimized ways of rural planning compilation, implementation, and administration in recent years. This paper first reviewed the characteristics of practical rural planning, and then analyzed the mechanism of rural renewal from three aspects, including the plan-making information platform, planning implementation method, and planning management strategy. With an empirical study on the Shuiyu Village, Qinglonghu Town, Fangshan District, Beijing, this paper summarized the practices on rural renewal in aspects of renew requirements identification, renew projects planning, and the planning management process, hoping to provide insights on practical rural planning preparation and implementation in China.
