Abstract:
Driven by the 2022 Winter Olympics, the demand for ice and snow tourism among the Chinese people is increasing. Under the background of the increasingly urgent global climate change situation, exploring the planning and construction of snow and ice towns from the perspective of low carbon has become a new issue of the times. This paper sorts out the planning and construction characteristics of snow and ice towns at home and abroad, focusing on the successful cases of ice and snow towns such as Chamonix in France, Whistler in Canada, Stowe in Vermont in the United States, Prince, and Chongli in Zhangjiakou, Hebei, and summarize their characteristics. On this basis, the key technical path for the planning and construction of ice-snow characteristic towns is proposed, namely:building a low-carbon indicator system as the goal, laying out green ecological space as the carrier, introducing ‘ice and snow+’ green industry as the support, and selecting ecological appropriate technology as the demonstration. Finally, this paper takes the planning practice of Sino-French Ecological Ice and Snow Town as an example to explore a low-carbon characteristic development path relying on the Sino-French eco-city cooperation platform.
