Abstract:
The construction of child-friendly cities carries the people's aspiration for a better life, as well as the responsibility and mission for the future development of children. With the construction of child-friendly cities formally written into the national '14th Five-Year Plan', the integration of the concept of 'child-friendliness' into the construction of people's cities has created a favourable policy environment. At present, the quantity and quality of various service facilities for children in the countryside cannot meet the needs of children's physical and mental development, and the public space in the countryside is one of the most important spaces for the construction of a child-friendly countryside. Based on this, this paper describes the relationship between the child-friendly concept and rural public space, further explores the current situation of the application of the child-friendly concept in rural public space, and proposes child-friendly optimisation strategies in the three dimensions of recreational environment, natural environment, and educational environment. Finally, the main block of Dongyangtuo Village in Beijing is presented as a demonstration example to provide new ideas for the optimisation design of rural public space.
