Abstract:
The rammed earth dwellings in northeastern Sichuan possess strong mountain regional characteristics and a rich local flavor of the landscape environment, reflecting the cultural character of Bashu traditional architecture. The residential building space serves as an important carrier for the inheritance and development of Bashu culture. During the process of development and evolution, the architectural space of rammed earth residential buildings in the mountainous rural areas of northeastern Sichuan has formed a typical spatial paradigm embodying Bashu cultural characteristics and elements of Bashu historical and cultural heritage. However, this has not been systematically analyzed and summarized. Through the investigation and mapping of over 70 households of rammed earth residential buildings in mountainous rural areas of northeastern Sichuan, this paper analyzes the spatial morphological characteristics of rammed earth residential buildings from different scales and levels of residential buildings, and summarizes the basic characteristics of the spatial morphology of rammed earth residential buildings in mountainous rural areas of northeastern Sichuan.
