Abstract:
Traditional villages serve as the invaluable ‘gene pool' for inheriting the excellent traditional Chinese culture. Ensuring the protection and inheritance of the history and culture of traditional villages is a crucial aspect in the evaluation of rural construction. Currently, research achievements on the value recognition, protection, and management of traditional villages are abundant, but there is a lack of evaluation indicators related to historical and cultural protection and inheritance, making it impossible to scientifically evaluate the historical and cultural inheritance of traditional villages. This paper focuses on the construction of an evaluation index system for historical and cultural protection and inheritance. By thoroughly analyzing the cultural value connotation of traditional villages, a ‘two-system and three-dimension' evaluation index system for historical and cultural protection and inheritance is established. Finally, an empirical evaluation study is conducted on six traditional villages with typical characteristics in Huadu District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, to explore the factors influencing the differences in the level of historical and cultural protection and inheritance of traditional villages, and countermeasures are proposed to promote the coordinated development of historical and cultural protection and inheritance of traditional villages with the improvement of people's living standards.
