Abstract:
The concept of sharing is one of the themes of urban development in the new era. Faced with the contradiction between the limited spatial resources and diverse spatial needs in old residential areas, the introduction of the concept of sharing into the renovation of public spaces in old residential areas provides new ideas and methods for urban renewal. By sorting out the development of the sharing concept and the difficulties in the renovation of old residential areas, this paper proposes a sharing connotation that combines the three levels of elderly and child sharing, internal and external sharing, and spatiotemporal sharing. It explores the renovation mechanism that combines the new sharing concept with the four existing problems in the public space of old residential areas. By internalizing the concept of sharing as a ‘Shared Ring' and incorporating it into the renovation of public spaces, this study takes the Zhengjuesi community in Jinan City, Shandong Province as an example to demonstrate specific strategies and renovation content for the renovation of old community public spaces under the concept of ‘Shared Ring'. The study explores how to utilize the concept of sharing to enhance the environmental quality of the community within limited space.
