Abstract:
Traditional villages represent dynamic legacies of traditional life and production, embodying unique and enduring values. The current research on traditional villages necessitates incorporating the pertinent background environment into the same research category. From a more macro and broader temporal-spatial perspective, it is crucial to holistically comprehend the physical-social attributes and to assess the overall value that stems from the combination of the inherent and related values of traditional villages. Based on the connotation of the background environment, this paper proposes a traditional villages' value correlation model. Utilizing this model as a benchmark, we integrate evaluation indicators and formulate evaluation methods to assess the correlation between the ontology and the background environment. The correlations are subsequently divided into different levels according to their values. Taking Yaogeli Ancient Village in Wuxi City as an example, this study applies the model for specific analysis. This research expands the dimensions of value cognition and aims to provide insights for the future protection, construction, and management of traditional villages.
