This article delves into the developmental journey, operational mechanism, and practical applications of Shanghai's 'Three Divisions of Joint Creation' system within the realms of urban renewal and rural revitalization. Through specific case studies of the Dongsiwenli urban renewal pilot and the 'Shanghai-style Jiangnan' Xinyuan unit pilot, the article dissects the core similarities among responsible planners within 'Three Divisions of Joint Creation' projects, as well as the disparities in their roles across these two fields. Ultimately, the article summarizes the future practice prospects for responsible planners within the context of 'Three Divisions of Joint Creation', emphasizing the reasons behind role differences and common characteristics.
