Abstract: The construction of the barrier-free environment in rural areas started late, and the response to the needs of vulnerable groups such as the elderly and the disabled is insufficient. Taking the research literature on the rural barrier-free environment in China from 1995 to 2023 in CNKI as the search source, this paper uses CiteSpace software to generate a scientific knowledge map, analyzes the research hotspots and trends, and comments on the subjective research with the rural barrier-free environment as an independent goal and the embedded research with the rural barrier-free environment as an optimized entry point. Furthermore, it analyzes the evaluation system of the rural barrier-free environment and proposes the evaluation indexes of the basic guarantee category, quality improvement category, and development and optimization category. This will provide theoretical support for the subsequent research and construction of rural accessibility and promote the construction of an inclusive environment in rural areas.
