Abstract: Traditional villages contain rich cultural resources and historical values. In recent years, scholars have gradually focused on the related research of centralized contiguous villages, and proposed the planning methods and related research of centralized contiguous protection and utilization of traditional villages such as ‘cluster protection' and ‘contiguous district mode' in village protection. In this paper, the visual analysis software CiteSpace was used to analyze the literature from the CNKI database and draw the knowledge map. From the aspects of keywords, keyword clustering, keyword emergence, development context and trend, the literature on centralized connected areas and traditional village centralized connected areas were visualized and analyzed. The study shows that the research on the protection of traditional villages is increasing rapidly. Our country promotes the protection, cultural inheritance, development, and utilization of traditional villages by promoting the contiguous and cluster protection and development of traditional villages. Taking the concentrated and contiguous protection and utilization of traditional villages in Miyun District of Beijing as an example, the development mode of protection and utilization is explored in order to provide reference for the protection and development of traditional villages in the future.
