Abstract:
With the continuous advancement of urbanization in China, urban villages, as a special spatial form in urban fringe areas, are facing the pressure of large-scale transformation and renewal. Taking the perspective of architectural micro-renewal as its starting point, this paper explores the intervention mechanism, collaboration mode, and potential paths for spatial regeneration of artistic design practice in the renovation of urban villages. Through a comparative study of typical cases, such as Nantou Ancient Town(Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province), Enning Road(Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province), and Tatou Village(Xiamen City, Fujian Province), this paper reveals how art participates in the architectural renewal process via means including installation construction, temporary spaces, and public interfaces. It further illustrates how art activates the vitality of urban villages, preserves spatial memory, and realizes renewal strategies of ’light intervention’ ’gradual approach’, and ’local orientation’. Research indicates that crossborder collaboration between art and architecture is not only a supplement to formal aesthetics, but also a new approach to spatial cognition and the construction and renovation of urban villages. This study provides an operable renovation path and theoretical support for the renewal of urban villages with low cost, high participation, and cultural sensitivity.
