Abstract:
As a spatial catalyst for cultivating specialized industries, promoting local culture, and building cultural-tourism brands, the embedded service logic within rural workshops is critical for delivering user experience value and establishing spatial identity. Guided by service design thinking and through stakeholder synergy, this study constructs a spatial empowerment methodology for rural workshops comprising three stages: 'supplydemand planning', 'space construction', and 'system iteration'. An empirical investigation was conducted using the Chrysanthemum Rhyme Workshop project in Futang Village, Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province as a case study: Stage 1 identifies supply-demand touchpoints to define service content and corresponding spatial delivery channels; Stage 2 implements spatial shaping pathways to materialize workshop service experiences based on experiential value hierarchies and their correspondence with the spatial system; Stage 3 facilitates spatial system enhancement for workshop service maintenance through experience evaluation and supply-demand equilibrium. Developed through this research, the integrated action framework synergizes intangible services with tangible spaces. This framework offers transferable insights for the construction practices of other rural workshops.
