Abstract:
This study examines the salt production settlement in the Houzhaoba area of Yushan Town, Chongqing Municipality. Based on the 'production-living-ecological space' framework, it traces the spatial evolution process from the perspective of the interaction between production and daily life, dividing it into four stages: the embryonic period, the developmental period, the mature period, and the decline period. The study reveals the spatial characteristics of morphological evolution across three scales-township layout, settlement morphology, and architectural features-while examining the driving mechanisms of production-living relationships within salt settlements on spatial patterns. Through multidimensional historical analysis, this paper clarifies the evolutionary logic of Houzhaoba's settlement morphology, deepens understanding of human-land relationship dynamics in traditional production-oriented settlements, provides empirical support for research on the cultural legacy of Ba Salt civilization, and offers reference points for conservation and renewal strategies of traditional salt production settlements.
